Job Title: Housekeeping Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Worker to join our team in Blacksburg, VA. As a key member of our Student Engagement and Campus Life (SECL) team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to Custodial Operation needs, ensuring a clean and safe environment in SECL facilities. This includes maintaining established standards of cleanliness and sanitation in student lounges, offices, lobbies, stairs, restrooms, showers, windows, and other venues as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and replenish supplies in assigned areas
  • Report any facility repairs or needs to management
  • Operate powered and manual cleaning equipment
  • Mix chemicals with proper proportions from established guidelines
  • Responsible for the care and handling of Custodial Operations supplies, equipment, and assigned keys
  • Occasionally support Event Operations Staff in the preparation of events scheduled in reservable spaces in SECL facilities
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of commercial/industrial cleaning methods
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cleaning institutional or commercial areas
