About the Job

First Student is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Gas and Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
  • Assist with safety inspections and DOT maintenance inspections
  • Work with a team to ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed
  • At least 5 years of diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education with some automotive experience
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set
  • Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program
