Job Summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Tonawanda, NY facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This includes a full range of tasks, from electrical and hydraulic repairs to diesel engine overhauls and fabricating custom parts.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests on heavy-duty trucks and equipment to identify areas of concern and recommend repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Repair and replace electrical and hydraulic systems, including wiring, sensors, and actuators
  • Overhaul and repair diesel engines, including cylinder head replacements and fuel system repairs
  • Fabricate custom parts and upfits for new equipment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Collaborate with other technicians to complete complex repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Document all work performed, including time and materials used
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead mechanic
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a variety of environments
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
