Job Summary

The Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team in the Center for Intercollegiate Athletics. As a key member of our staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical support to our student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during competition and practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevention and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of student-athletes to identify potential injuries and develop strategies to prevent them.
  • Treatment and Management: Provide prompt and effective treatment for injuries, including rehabilitation and management of chronic conditions.
  • Rehabilitation and Return-to-Play: Develop and implement rehabilitation programs to help student-athletes recover from injuries and return to competition safely.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with team physicians, coaches, and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, as well as RIT's policies and procedures, to minimize risk and ensure a safe and healthy environment for student-athletes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification and New York State Athletic Training licensure (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong organizational and time management skills.
