Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern to join our team at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our experienced engineers to assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, and transportation.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project specifications, environmental impact assessments, and material testing.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and plans.
- Participate in site visits and inspections, assisting in surveying, measurements, and construction monitoring.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and clients, to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong academic record in engineering coursework.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge or interest in water supply and transmission systems is desirable.
