We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical sites and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient registration functions, including confirmation of appointments, updating demographic information, insurance verification, and pulling of patient charts.
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner, using a standardized script to ensure consistency and quality.
- Review clinicians' schedules in advance to ensure accurate demographics and insurance verification, and notify patients of any issues prior to their appointments.
- Collect co-pays and issue receipts, balancing payments against receipts at the end of each shift.
- Notify staff of patient arrivals and follow established procedures for cancellations and rescheduling.
- Resolve insurance issues to ensure patients have adequate coverage for services prior to scheduled appointments.
- Assist patients with enrollment in available insurance plans, including Mass Health and Commonwealth Care.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Training in a medical or administrative field.
- Computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
