Key Responsibilities
  • Complete service requests in a timely and effective manner, ensuring resident satisfaction
  • Perform routine maintenance on properties, buildings, units, appliances, and equipment to prevent issues and ensure a safe living environment
  • Conduct thorough make-ready processes, including repairs, replacements, and clean-up, to ensure properties are ready for new residents
  • Communicate daily with the property office to report progress on service requests and make-readies
  • Identify and report any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs to management
  • Assist other maintenance associates as needed to ensure efficient operations
  • Monitor pool operations daily and maintain health department standards
  • Maintain curb appeal by assisting with grounds keeping and litter removal
  • Assist with housekeeping, inspections, and other tasks assigned by the property manager or maintenance supervisor
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding promptly to their needs and concerns
  • Perform emergency call-back services as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and maintenance shop
  • Adhere to Mills Properties' policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, such as Fair Housing and the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Embody Mills Properties' values and apply them to all areas of responsibility
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school degree preferred
  • Minimum one year of maintenance experience; EPA certification Type I and II, or Universal, required or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
  • Proven ability to remain composed under pressure, solve problems with keen insight, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment, with a proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on others' ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
