Oncology Nurse Specialist

As a Registered Nurse with American Oncology Management Company, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our hematology and oncology clinics. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team, responsible for administering chemotherapy treatments, conducting patient assessments, and educating patients and families about their treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer chemotherapy agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
Conduct ongoing patient assessments to identify and address any concerns or needs.
Document treatment rendered to patients accurately and thoroughly in OncoEMR, ensuring appropriate charges are captured.
Educate patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
Participate in chemotherapy classes as needed, serving as a moderator and instructor to educate patients and families about their treatment options.
Respond to incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed and maintaining a clean and organized storage area.
Maintain working knowledge of Nucleus dispensing medications and perform cycle counts, restocking medications within the designated timeframe.
Enter patient charges into Nucleus accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment, with experience in IV therapy and hematology/oncology patients.
Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess patient needs and conditions effectively.
Current CPR and BLS certifications, with fluency in the English language and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license for travel to clinics, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to Company policies and procedures.
