Architectural Project Manager - Education

GPD Group is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead K-12 Education projects in the Northeast Ohio area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural design and project management, with a concentration on the K-12 education market.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee design and delivery of projects to meet client expectations.
  • Schedule and manage resources to the project budget.
  • Complete contracts and monthly billing and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Financially responsible for projects.
  • Work with other architectural and design staff to complete projects. Provide direction and oversight throughout the process. Mentor less experienced staff.
  • Ensure the company quality control standards are upheld.
  • Technical oversight of the projects.
  • Construction administration management.
  • Coordinate all disciplines of design whether completed internally or using external partners. Coordinate field services such as land and building surveys, environmental studies, and geotechnical studies.
  • Communicate with the clients regularly.
  • Participate in presentations and networking events as needed.

Requirements:
  • Registered Architect with over 15 years of experience with a concentration on the K-12 education market.
  • Experience in architectural design and project management of K-12 projects within the Northeast Ohio market.
  • Experience with all phases of the project from prebond activities, master planning, programming, schematic, design development, construction documentation through construction administration.
  • Evidence of building and maintaining client relationships specifically in the K-12 market.
  • Experience in partnering with Business Development to pre-position the firm, respond to RFPs, and develop and deliver presentations to school districts in pursuit of new projects.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the K-12 sector design and delivery methods.
  • Demonstrates strong relationships with consultants and contractors.
  • Experience in participating and leading the design efforts on K-12 projects using BIM technology.
  • Experience coordinating with all disciplines of design to deliver a quality project.
  • Experience with the OFCC standards. Relationships with the OFCC members a plus.
  • Ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional writing skills, and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
