Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating a cash register, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare coffee shop beverages according to set standards, including brewing, mixing, and blending.
  • Prepare food items according to procedures, ensuring they are handled safely and presented in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Operate a cash register to process customer transactions, including handling cash, checks, credit cards, and gift certificates.
  • Stock and rotate deli items and merchandise displays, maintaining a clean and well-stocked department.
  • Understand and communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, modeling high standards of service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
  • Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store with varied temperatures and moderate noise levels.
