Job Title: Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist

Join Premier Health as a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in our Diagnostic Ultrasound Department.

Position Summary

As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-directed interventional procedures, utilizing proper techniques and protocols. You will work under your scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment, coordinating patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department. You will exercise professional judgment in the performance of duties to maintain equipment in good working condition and may perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.

Essential Duties & Functions:
  1. Perform US procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluate Ultrasound studies for technical image quality.
  2. Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the US procedure.
  3. Perform daily and weekly QC as required.
  4. Practice sterile technique as required.
  5. Assist Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  6. Coordinate patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  7. Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educate patients about exam.
  8. Ensure that all records, files, and reports are properly recorded as required, perform clerical duties when necessary, verify a signed physician order is received, and correspond with the billed procedure.
  9. Maintain knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  10. Follow radiation safety policies and procedures.
