Job Description

At Performance Food Group, we are seeking a skilled CDL A Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure accurate and timely responses to questions.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Deliver and unload products to customers according to predetermined routes and schedules.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 1 year commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience
  • Customer service-related work experience
