POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves the upkeep, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and machinery. You will provide engineering support for the installation, layout design, fabrication, and debugging of mechanical components and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure optimal performance of assigned machinery and meet production targets.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary.
  • Operate machinery as required.
  • Monitor and respond to all PLC readouts.
  • Engage with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in various areas, including:
    • Managing work orders by creating accurate notifications and orders.
    • Locating parts and information using search functionalities.
    • Documenting time spent on work orders.
    • Completing necessary documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives that support quality, reliability, and engineering goals.
  • Communicate maintenance activities effectively across shifts and functions.
  • Exhibit excellence in housekeeping and LEAN practices.
  • Consistently adhere to safety, quality, and operational standards, including required documentation.
  • Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, following all safety policies and regulations.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to the Environmental Policy and follow applicable EH&S procedures.
  • Perform all tasks safely, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others.
  • Report any job-related injuries or illnesses to a supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in accident investigations as directed.
  • Take necessary actions to rectify unsafe conditions.
  • Actively engage in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Review Material Safety Data Sheets before handling any chemical products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • In the ESP department, mechanics may be involved in hazardous waste management tasks, including:
    • Transferring hazardous waste from accumulation points.
    • Operating at accumulation points.
    • Assisting with the removal of hazardous waste.

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete all quality checks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow established quality procedures and protocols.
  • Notify supervisors for corrective actions when defects are identified.

EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least one year as a Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Other Required Skills: Proficiency in shop mathematics, ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, and familiarity with various measuring instruments. Requires judgment to plan and execute tasks where general methods are available. Must be capable of operating computer-controlled equipment and familiar with hand tools and precision measuring devices. Ability to perform minor electrical repairs (230v and under) is preferred. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Testing: Must demonstrate satisfactory performance on validated standards.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Technical school training or four years of equivalent industrial or military experience.
