We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Community Engagement Aide to join our team at Community Interface Services. This social services position involves empowering individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to achieve their dreams.

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Aide, you will work closely with an individual who is eager to participate in their local community. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting them in exploring volunteer opportunities and their local community
  • Planning social and recreational activities to expand their network
  • Assisting with mobility training to increase independence in accessing the community
  • Developing and implementing a plan of direct support for their personal goals
  • Documenting progress and working with a larger team to analyze metrics and determine future steps

This full-time position works Monday through Friday, and work locations include Sorrento Valley to Central San Diego. The estimated salary for this role is $43,200 - $45,760 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills, resourcefulness, and teaching skills. You must have a car in safe working order, vehicle insurance, a valid CA driver's license, at least 2 years of driving experience, and the ability to pass a background check. A high school diploma is required, and a bachelor's degree in a social science is preferred. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is also preferred.
