Job Description

As a Speech Language Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Speech Therapy services in line with a consultation prescribed by the resident's physician.
  • Conducting initial assessments and evaluations to determine the nature and extent of impairment, developing treatment plans, and communicating these plans to relevant medical personnel.
  • Delivering treatment related to dysphagia, dysarthria, and swallowing impairments.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, including reports, summaries, and progress notes, in accordance with approved forms and industry standards.
  • Administering an active treatment program, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Collaborating with medical, nursing, and other healthcare teams to promote optimal health and wellness.
  • Attending interdisciplinary team meetings and participating in in-service educational programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years performing services similar in scope to those defined above.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong passion for delivering high-quality care.
