Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of annual marketing plans that meet the mission to generate room nights in Helena for lodging partners.
  • Play a key role in advising on and contributing to digital, advertising, and marketing strategies.
  • Engage sales leaders of hotels and other key hospitality and venue partners to understand their strategies.
  • Work to strongly position Helena as a preferred leisure travel destination.
  • Use available research and market demand insights to refine a plan to optimize further market expansion.
  • Work with the Executive Director and team to protect Visit Helena's brand standards and create brand lift for the destination.
  • Foster key relationships with industry contacts to help cultivate leisure tourism business and events for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Visit Helena team to advise and implement other marketing programs and campaigns for leisure, group, sports, and events.
  • Manage Visit Helena's photo and video assets, coordinating shoots and ensuring high-quality content production.
  • Work closely with the social media manager to provide content ideas and assets for various platforms.
  • Facilitate the creation of engaging monthly newsletters, fostering a sense of community among followers and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee the functionality and content of the website and other digital platforms.

SEO and Website:

Ensure that Visit Helena's website is optimized for search engines and provides valuable information for potential visitors.

Maintain Visit Helena Blog and appropriate web updates and digital assets for leisure visitor growth.

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to execute leisure familiarization, media, and publicity tours.
  • Attend travel shows that meet Visit Helena's target markets, demographics, and strategies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in digital marketing and communications.
  • Support special events when necessary.
  • Work with fellow Visit Helena team members to complete activities and programs that fulfill the mission and goals of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Must exhibit a strong understanding of the latest marketing trends.
  • 4-year degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business, or a related field required.
  • Should be an experienced communicator with solid project management skills.
  • Strong understanding of web and email systems, public relations, brand messaging, and social platforms.
  • 2 or more years of experience in an ad agency environment or a related environment.

Compensation:

$50,000-$55,000
