Maintenance Technician 1

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician 1 - Equipment Specialist will play a critical role in supporting production departments with preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure it is predictable and well-maintained. This position will also assist in the movement of large tonnage chillers for production, utilizing various equipment and tools to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair spreader bars and chains for moving production chillers, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Utilize large overhead cranes to move production chillers, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
• Operate a forklift to move equipment, maintaining a high level of safety awareness and adherence to company policies.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
• Assist production departments with 5S projects, promoting a culture of organization and efficiency throughout the facility.
• Support the maintenance team with minor mechanical repairs to plant equipment, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
• Use standard formats to audit autonomous maintenance performed by operators, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Provide training to operators to enhance the effectiveness of autonomous maintenance, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Ensure all activities align with EHS & JCMS goals and metrics, prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.
• Participate in EHS & JCMS observations program, actively contributing to the identification and mitigation of potential risks and hazards.
• Maintain a secure work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environment.
• Participate in training programs, staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies to enhance job performance and contribute to the company's success.
• Assist in defining corrective and preventive actions, working collaboratively with the maintenance team to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Control system logs in your area, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Intervene personally to identify and correct unsafe acts and recognize safe behavior, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility throughout the facility.
• Identify and report potential environmental impacts, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Report all injuries, near misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and occupational health problems, taking necessary corrective measures and supporting investigations as needed.
• Support and comply with all security practices, systems, and rules established by the company, maintaining a secure and respectful work environment.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area, adhering to 5S standards and promoting a culture of organization and efficiency.
• Properly use Personal Protective Equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Review and participate in risk assessments, ensuring a high level of alertness and awareness when working with materials and chemicals.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Requires a minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
