About the Role

The Power Equipment Sales & Service Manager is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department. This includes personnel management, asset management, and sales & service management for a specific geographic location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales, margin, and operating income growth by establishing strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and sales centers.
  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of sales relationships with key customers.
  • Monitor and address performance issues using established metrics.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  • Ensure operational, administrative, and quality objectives are met by utilizing necessary resources.
  • Monitor and address quality-related issues, including billable hours, shop and labor expenses, and other metrics.
  • Ensure the sales team and service center are staffed with product-knowledgeable, customer-oriented employees through training, coaching, and performance appraisals.
  • Maintain service department assets, including building, trucks, trailers, and shop-related equipment, to provide a safe and efficient environment.
  • Contribute to the annual forecast and budget process by providing key sales and expense figures.
  • Participate in industry-related events and trade associations.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role is desired.
  • Prior experience with small engine repair, specifically 2-cycle and 4-cycle small engine equipment.
  • Ability to lead, coach, delegate, inspire, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated sales experience and proven negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
