**Job Summary**

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Admission Coordinator to join our team. As an Admission Coordinator, you will be responsible for registering patients and providing information regarding hospital rules and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Interview patients to obtain demographic and insurance information
  • Obtain signatures on medical, legal, and financial forms
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties related to patient admission, including verification of insurance information and collection of balances, deductibles, and co-payments
  • Admit incoming patients to the facility and conduct interviews to obtain relevant demographic and insurance data
  • Communicate and collect account balances, deductibles, and co-payment responsibilities
  • Enter patient information into the Hospital Information System and verify accuracy
  • Re-verify demographics and insurance of recurring patients
  • Verify insurance, as needed, for successful billing
  • Perform financial assessments of patients who are uninsured and make appropriate referrals for financial assistance

**Requirements**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Prior customer service experience, preferred
  • Data entry skills (80 keystrokes per minute), required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital admission, insurance/billing procedures, and Diagnostic Related Groups (DRGs), preferred

**Additional Information**
