Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with customers
- Provide training and supervision of all truck drivers on all routes
- Schedule daily and weekly routes
- Dispatch trucks, including through load boards
- Invoice customers
- Ensure all trucks are routinely serviced, registered, and inspected
- Maintain employee files and complete accurate records
- Coordinate with Champion Metal Supply shipping manager to schedule shipments
- Develop a culture of safety among direct reports
- Monitor and report transportation costs
- Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods
- Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation
- Stay up to date with safety regulations
- Work in compliance with Insurance companies
- Solid knowledge of supply chain management
- Experience preparing and tracking orders
- Excellent organizational skills
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of truck maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Great customer service skills
- High school diploma
- 2 years related management experience with previous experience in operations and transportation
- Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, shipping manager, or similar role
- QuickBooks experience
- Dispatch experience
- DOT reporting experience
- Proficient knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
