Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neurology team in Everett, Massachusetts. As an Ambulatory Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to patients across the Division of Neurology.

About the Role

This 40-hour per week position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to provide timely and effective communication and scheduling for ambulatory patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing support and care to patients within the Neurology Department.
  • Ensure that ambulatory patients are seen in a timely manner by the appropriate clinician(s) and that coordination of care and communication is maintained with patients and referring providers.
  • Offer clinical telephone triage, especially for urgent clinical situations, and general nursing support for patients across the Division of Neurology.
  • Maintain familiarity with department activity and work closely with clinicians and support staff to facilitate timely and effective communication and scheduling.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational quality management and/or quality improvement projects as directed by leadership.
  • Proficiently use the electronic medical record, documenting in a clear, complete, concise manner in SBAR format when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in a safe environment.
  • Assist patients with medication questions, deliver lab results, and provide patient education as needed and requested.

Requirements:

  • A graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent (within 12 months) clinical nursing experience in an Ambulatory Clinic/Practice setting required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Neurology and/or related experience required.
  • Experience with telephone triage and telephone-based clinical assessment techniques required.
  • Preferably, experience working in a Call Center or similar area and handling referrals, as well as experience with team-based care.
