Job Summary:

The CUA Family Stability Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being and safety of children, youth, and families within our community. Working closely with the Case Management Team, this position focuses on achieving Single Case Plan goals and ensuring timely case closure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the larger CUA team's efforts to improve safety, permanency, and well-being of children, youth, and families.
  • Provide education and intervention services to children, youth, and caregivers, promoting family stabilization and reunification.
  • Participate in Family Team Conferences when necessary.
  • Attend Court Hearings as needed but never in lieu of the CUA Case Manager.
  • Establish trusting relationships with assigned families using a strengths-based approach.
  • Support the CUA Support Team in achieving established Single Case Plan objectives.
  • Facilitate safe case closure for in-home service cases.
  • Facilitate reunification or other permanency by assisting the case manager with permanency opportunities, tracking case movement, and supporting court preparation.
  • Supervise visits when necessary.
  • Assist with transportation when necessary.
  • Complete referrals and follow-ups as needed.
  • Provide on-call services in cases of emergency and on a rotational basis as required by APM CUA protocol.

Requirements:

  • Education: Must have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Experience: Two (2) or more years of work and/or internship experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in outreach activities, through volunteerism or another source.
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
