Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hydrogen Plant Operator to join our team at Matheson Tri-Gas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the plant's operations to ensure efficient and safe production of hydrogen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate plant rates with customer requirements and perform start-up and shutdown activities as needed.
  • Interface with electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to control the steam methane reformer process.
  • Maximize efficiencies, minimize downtime, and ensure the integrity of the hydrogen product.
  • Develop skills to troubleshoot process upsets and take corrective actions.
  • Participate in the maintenance and updating of plant equipment and work instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain production records, logs, and inspection forms to meet internal and external requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience in an industrial plant in operations or maintenance departments is preferred.
  • Military service may substitute for industrial plant experience.
  • Basic algebra, fractions, percentages, and unit conversion skills.
  • Personal computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and other software utilized by the company.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy.
  • Understanding of electrical hazards and safety.
  • Ability to climb stairs and work effectively on platforms up to 150 feet above grade.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and/or man-lift according to company policy.
