Matheson Tri-Gas is seeking a highly skilled Hydrogen Plant Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hydrogen plant.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and Maintain Plant Operations: Coordinate plant rates with customer requirements, perform start-up and shutdown activities as needed, and conduct preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Interface with Plant Systems: Utilize electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to control the continuous steam methane reformer process and meet flow and purity requirements.
- Maximize Efficiency and Minimize Downtime: Ensure the integrity of the hydrogen product and maintain a safe work environment.
- Develop and Implement Solutions: Be proactive and innovative in solving operational issues and improving plant performance.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with team members, vendors, safety teams, and management to achieve operational goals.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Identify and resolve plant operational issues and alarms, either directly or in conjunction with team members and/or Remote Operations Center personnel.
- Optimize Plant Performance: Track performance data and implement the best operating plan for all plants.
- Industrial Plant Experience: Preferably in operations or maintenance departments.
- Military Service: May substitute for industrial plant experience.
- Math and Computer Skills: Basic algebra, fractions/percentages, unit conversion, and personal computer proficiency.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy.
- Physical Demands: Physically able to perform all duties, including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting/carrying loads up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to Work at Heights: Capable of climbing stairs and working effectively on platforms up to 150 feet above grade.
- Operating Heavy Equipment: Ability to operate a forklift and/or man-lift according to company policy.
