Job Summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced Engineering Education Manager to lead the development of our new catalog of educational content for the C1 engineering community. The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, cloud computing, and people management, with a proven track record of creating educational content for engineers and working in a consulting or service-oriented organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and manage the team responsible for developing our new catalog of educational content in service of the C1 engineering community.
  • Partner with engineering teams and organizations across the company to translate educational needs into executable vision for your team.
  • Develop and maintain connective tissue between our organization and the rest of the C1 engineering community in order to inform our roadmap.
  • Constantly evaluate team and individual output and adjust processes and strategy accordingly.
  • Provide mentorship to members of your team and guidance to others across the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • At least 4 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role, ideally with any combination of the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Objective-C/Swift, Java/Kotlin, Go, or Python
  • 1+ years of experience working in an architecture, evangelist, and/or technical product management capacity
  • 1+ years of experience creating educational content for engineers or working on software meant for a technical audience
  • 1+ years of experience working in a consulting or service-oriented organization
