We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our Compounding Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless transition of daily and weekend operations, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of production in our labs.
Key Responsibilities- Create a daily workflow plan for the technician team, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed.
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly pharmacy technician task sheets, as well as downtime task sheets.
- Delegate tasks and workflow items as necessary, leading the team effort to accomplish daily, weekly production tasks.
- Train additional pharmacy technicians on the role and responsibilities unique to alternative shift technicians.
- Work closely with R&D to perform scale-ups with new liquid tableting formulas.
- Troubleshoot tablet press issues and train new technicians.
- Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, cycle count, and remove expired medication.
- Interview applicants for pharmacy technician positions.
- Practice all state and federal pharmacy regulations for ordering, handling, and management of prescriptions and/or prescription drug products.
- Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations.
- Update and maintain patient profile records as necessary according to state pharmacy regulations.
- Review weekly pharmacy huddle updates for new information.
- Drive quality efforts by adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment as mandated by USP 797 and USP 800.
- Transition compounded medications through various states of workflow.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to strict infection-control and cross-contamination policies and protocols.
- 4+ years as a compounding pharmacy technician with lead experience.
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the Arizona Board of Pharmacy.
- Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy.
- Ability to work flexible shift times within alternative schedule demand.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong independent work ethic.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and promote company culture.
- Proficiency in English, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems.

- This position requires working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the length of working with these drugs.
- This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
- Physical exertion required, including walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time, and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve-hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD), associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity, and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
