We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at Ansible Government Solutions. As a Critical Care RN, you will provide exceptional patient care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide Critical Care Nursing Services: Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, obtain patient history and pertinent family history, assess patient and plan appropriate nursing care, and document plan of care and care given in patient's medical record.
- Assess and Plan Care: Assess patient's condition and revise plans-of-care based on problems that are identified, administer medications and Intravenous (IV) therapies, and possess knowledge of actions and usual dosages of the most commonly used emergency drugs and their location on the crash cart.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate pertinent patient data to the Charge Nurse and/or Physician as appropriate, instruct patients and their families regarding prescribed medications/therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that must be accomplished, and assess patient/family knowledge level, implement plan of instructions, and record the patient's family's demonstrated level of understanding.
- Operate Equipment: Operate defibrillator, electrocardiogram (EKG) machines and cardiac monitors, and other emergency technical equipment, and care for patients with Swan-Gans catheters, arterial lines and mechanical ventilators.
- Participate in Discharge Planning: Participate in discharge planning and can initiate life saving measures in the absence of Physicians, assure the content and correctness of a prepared report and sign the document to validate its content, and maintain a neat personal appearance and maintain professional decorum.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse academic program (BSN or ADN).
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse licensure in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and American Health Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience: Three (3) years of recent Critical Care RN work experience is required.
- Physical Demands: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift, lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs, carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance, and push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
