Job Summary:

This position requires administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physicians, with an emphasis on specialty areas such as Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care.

Responsibilities include monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, patient assessment, understanding hemodynamic monitoring, and teaching/training.

Essential Functions:

  1. Deliver all Respiratory Care procedures according to department policy and procedure manual.
  2. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.
  3. Verify Respiratory Care physician orders, initial, date, and time order after verification.
  4. Receive and give accurate and complete reports, update patient profile card to reflect current clinical status.
  5. Attend and participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.
  6. Keep Supervisor apprised of changes in workload and patient acuity.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A graduate degree from a two-year AMA-approved School for Respiratory Care, with a passing score on the NBRC entry-level examination.
  • A valid Oregon State Respiratory Care license.
  • AHA BLS certification.
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, NRP within three months of hire.

Estimated Salary: $62,000 - $82,000 per year
