Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operator to join our team at NorthStar Clean Energy. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial machinery and equipment at our 38 MW biomass-fueled renewable energy power plant in Grayling, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain industrial machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
  • Monitor and control systems to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, safety checks, and inspections.
  • Assist in maintaining the boiler system by adjusting chemical feed and monitoring chemistry levels.
  • Log equipment operating data and identify and report problems to senior operators.
  • Respond to alarms and operate necessary equipment to effectively respond to critical situations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two or more years of applicable experience.
  • 2+ years of power plant operations experience, previous control room experience, and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shift schedules, and weekends/holidays.
