About the Position

The Teacher's Aide plays a vital role in supporting the educational team, behavioral specialists, occupational, speech, and physical therapists, school districts, and families to help our students achieve their educational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist students in using instructional materials and equipment
  • Help the Teacher prepare for the school day
  • Perform personal care tasks for students
  • Perform feeding, lifting, positioning, and toileting duties for students as needed
  • Assist students in all areas of The Day School as directed
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience working with children
  • Experience working with exceptional children in an educational setting is preferred
  • Clearances: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse
  • Act 73 FBI, State Act 34-Criminal, and State Act 33-Child Abuse Clearances
  • Current and valid CPR and First Aid certification preferred (will provide training)

The Day School is an approved private school licensed by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Private Academic Schools and approved as a special education school by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Families and school districts have connected with our expert educational team to bring specialized education and related services to nearly 200 students from 60+ school districts across western Pennsylvania each year.
