Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecommunications Technician to support the Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) Support Services office. This position will provide technical expertise to augment CSIA core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of CSIA and its associated Managers and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Complex Systems: Operate and maintain complex electronic systems, including electromagnetic radiation (RF) spectrum communications systems, HF/MF/LF/VLF transmit/receive antennas, and tower structures.
- Analyze Network Characteristics: Analyze network characteristics, including traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput, to recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
- Design and Optimize Network Topologies: Design and optimize network topologies and site configurations to ensure efficient and reliable communication.
- Evaluate Communication Hardware and Software: Evaluate communication hardware and software, troubleshoot LAN/MAN/WAN and network-related problems, and provide technical expertise for performance and configuration of networks.
- Provide Technical Supervision and Training: Provide technical supervision and training to lower-level technicians, and distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.
- Perform Installation, Test, and Maintenance: Perform installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for communications equipment, electronics equipment, large computers, minicomputers, or microprocessors, including buses for those in a networked environment.
- Work from Engineering Drawings: Work from, and assist in the development of, engineering drawings, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field (4 years' experience may be substituted for the degree).
- Minimum 8 Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years of working experience in fielding experiences integrating COMSEC equipment, including the KG-175A, KG-175D, KG-250, KG-255, and KIV-7M, as well as performing test and evaluation on NSA High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) and Link Encryption Family Encryptors.
- Active TOP SECRET Clearance: Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
