Position Summary: Lockheed Martin Enterprise Operations is seeking an Accounting Intern to support our Global Financial Services (GFS) team.

In this capacity, you will be instrumental in assisting with billing processes for various Lockheed Martin locations.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely and precise billing to facilitate consistent cash flow, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining appropriate invoicing controls. You will also analyze and troubleshoot related accounting matters and transactions.

Additionally, you will assist with contract analysis and reconciliation, support ongoing process enhancements, and develop familiarity with government contracting practices.

Some interaction with clients will be necessary to ensure steady cash flow.


Your role will require a focus on internal Billings & Collections (B&C) and adherence to external policies and procedures, utilizing various systems while maintaining regular communication with business partners.

You will be tasked with upholding necessary financial controls and assisting with audits as required.

To thrive in this position, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Basic Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience in Accounting, Finance, or Economics-related activities (gained through academic coursework, internships, or work experience)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word

Desired Skills:

- Experience with accounting journal transaction posting and understanding its implications
- Skills in analytical evaluation and task management
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with Financial Accounting software and systems
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, Power queries, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP)
- Capability to maintain essential financial controls and support audits as needed
- Understanding and adherence to defined procedures and processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Familiarity with billing functionalities in SAP

Work Arrangement: Part-time

Remote Work:

The selected candidate will have a hybrid work schedule, splitting time between remote work and a designated Lockheed Martin facility.



Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin accommodates various alternative work schedules that provide additional flexibility. These schedules may range from standard 40-hour weeks to condensed formats, allowing for extra time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.
