Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing production procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure a quality product at the Lenexa Dry Powder production facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather chemicals from different storage locations and verify scales using designated weights.
  • Scoop and dump chemicals into containers up to 1,000 kg and place finished containers on a scale to verify gross weights.
  • Use a computer and specialized program to capture production information and check related reports to complete batch record documentation.
  • Check rooms and equipment for cleanliness and damage prior to use and locate formulated chemicals for charging into blenders.
  • Setup and operate blenders, pin mill systems, nitrogen conveying systems, and clean-in-place systems in accordance with required SOPs.
  • Control and monitor processes with an operator interface terminal and use a computer and specialized program to capture production information.
  • Check related reports and complete batch record documentation and use weights from 1 gm to 25 kg to verify scales are in specification.
  • Confirm material and supplies are staged and set up and operate automated packaging equipment within specified tolerances.
  • Fill powder into final containers up to 100 kg in weight and assist in performing label reconciliation to ensure proper package labeling.
  • Move pallets of product to finished goods storage and check related reports to complete batch record documentation.
  • Ensure finished goods meet standards for SAFC products and contribute to a safe working environment by following and performing operations in a safe working manner and in compliance with all safety policies and regulations.
  • Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear appropriately and report all unsafe working conditions or safety concerns through Medgate.
  • Gown up and comply with all quality and PPE guidelines and read and understand all written procedures as outlined in SOPs, Work Instructions, and Master Batch Records.
  • Set-up equipment ensuring operations are consistent with current SOPs and complete all documentation in accordance with GDP and SOPs.
  • Clean manufacturing equipment according to SOPs and actively participate in Quality systems practices.
  • Ensure quality and quantity of product throughout production process and report equipment failures and work with Maintenance to correct problems.
  • Continually increase proficiency and understanding of manufacturing processes and systems and participate in all training programs as directed by the Department Supervisor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in working areas and report any property damage to the shift supervisor immediately.
  • Make recommendations for continuous process improvements.
Physical Attributes
  • Lift 5 pounds for a six-hour period.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Maneuver and position mechanical components up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for 12-hour shift.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
