Design Manager

Pacifica Services is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead our facilities design process and coordinate capital projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing design teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Design Process Management: Manage and coordinate the district's design process to ensure plans meet functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair, through interaction with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion.
- Design Review and Compliance: Oversee the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD's standards and guidelines for the district.
- Architectural Firm Selection: Establish and follow a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on qualifications and performance standards.
- Design Direction and Oversight: Provide Architects with clear and consistent direction regarding goals, objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project.
- Design Review and Approval: Establish and follow an effective and efficient design review process to ensure the design meets overall goals and objectives for each project.
- Value Engineering: Provide maximum value for dollars budgeted and ensure designs are appropriate and enduring to meet functional needs of the district, local community, and environment.
- Project Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updates.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or planning and coordination of capital projects, including overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.
- Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Certifications: A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
