Job Summary

The Design Manager II will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplined team of planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals to guide the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and activation of various airport capital improvement projects. This includes developing and presenting preliminary design alternatives and comparative analysis to address requests and/or concerns from LAWA leadership and/or project stakeholders throughout the planning & design process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of professionals to plan and design airport capital improvement projects
  • Develop and present design alternatives and comparative analysis to stakeholders
  • Review and comment on design submittals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to project requirements
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and guide design teams through competing interests and project constraints
  • Manage design efforts across multiple projects to ensure a cohesive architectural statement and user experience throughout the LAX campus
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in airport design and construction
  • Licensed Architect or Engineer is desirable
  • Experience with planning and design software, including AutoDesk and Sketchup

KKCS offers a competitive salary range of $141,640 - $146,640 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. We also offer annual tuition assistance allowance and an Employee Assistance Program.
