Spacecraft Guidance Navigation Control Engineer

K2 Space is seeking a highly skilled Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) engineer to join our team. As a GNC engineer, you will be responsible for developing and testing advanced navigation and control systems for our spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop novel algorithms for precise pointing, state estimation, orbit transfer, mission design, and station-keeping of very large structures in earth orbit and beyond.
- Work with other engineers to develop a high-level vehicle architecture.
- Test and validate GNC algorithms in unit testing and integrated simulation environments.
- Develop models and simulations for spacecraft actuators, sensors, and dynamics.
Requirements:
- Master's or PhD degree in aerospace, mechanical, or relevant engineering discipline.
- 6+ months of experience applying technical engineering skills outside of the university classroom setting.
- Proficiency in Python, Julia, C/C++, or Matlab for algorithm development and simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Rust for algorithm development and simulation.
- Demonstrated ability with GNC actuator or sensor sizing, selection, and system design within an integrated engineering team.
- Demonstrated understanding of trajectory analysis, modeling, and mission design.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly pay range: $30 - $40 per hour.
- Housing and travel stipend may be available.
