About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer II to join our team at Chewy. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our cloud-based platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Manage Cloud Standards: Develop and enforce cloud standards to ensure seamless application deployment and management.
  • Automate and Optimize Processes: Design and implement automated processes to minimize manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize Cloud Services and Tools: Leverage AWS services, including EC2 instances, ECS, and EKS, to achieve efficient process automation.
  • Establish a Robust Framework: Develop a comprehensive framework for site reliability that can be measured and reported to customers.
  • Implement Scalable Processes: Design and implement scalable processes using various process automation tools.
  • Maintain Security and Compliance: Ensure security hardening on the Load Balancer end and oversee regular upgrades and software maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and share reports across the organization.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Network Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field, with 5 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Cloud Services Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud services, specifically AWS, including EC2 instances, ECS, and EKS container platforms, IAM roles, network VPC configurations, Load Balancers, and other essential AWS services.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and AWS Fargate, and orchestrating containers using Elastic Container Services or Kubernetes.
  • Observability and Reliability: Utilize observability tools, such as Datadog or Splunk, and have a strong understanding of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and measuring reliability of services.
  • CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, including pipelines-as-code, and configuration management and infrastructure-as-code for cloud provisioning.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Handling: Strong troubleshooting and incident handling skills, with the ability to handle outages and resolve issues efficiently.
