This role involves working within a team dedicated to enhancing product cybersecurity across various systems and laboratories, focusing on both training and development initiatives. The BDS Cybersecurity Engineering team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the security and resilience of Boeing's offerings, effectively translating high-level security policies into actionable technical implementations. The responsibilities are diverse, encompassing cyber and systems security analysis, engineering, testing, and vulnerability assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer and regulatory information system security requirements and translate them into comprehensive system security design specifications.
- Collaborate directly with clients and lead engineers to ensure that security measures are integrated into products and assessed for their effectiveness.
- Act as the primary system security contact throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle.
- Create IT architecture deliverables focused on implementing information security countermeasures for operational systems and systems in development.
- Offer technical cybersecurity engineering advice to IT Administrators, Systems Architects, Systems Engineers, and Software Developers.
- Guide system security engineering efforts regarding the design and execution of technical policies for user/computer groups and network devices.
- Oversee the design and deployment of security systems across the organization's networks, including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, log capture, host-based protections, and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Conduct evaluations of existing IT architecture to ensure compliance with security requirements from relevant frameworks.
- Analyze, triage, and report relevant product security data and indicators of potential security breaches.
- Support ISSO and IT administrators with system security expertise to aid in data gathering and incident response.
- Assist in monitoring and interpreting security device outputs, create documentation for authorization/accreditation packages, and implement security policies and standards.
This position requires full onsite presence.
Security Clearance:
An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance is mandatory for this role.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- DoD M IAT Level II Certification.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience implementing security controls in accordance with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience with DoD vulnerability and compliance assessment tools and processes.
- Proficiency in developing and executing security control test plans.
- DoD M IAT Level III Certification and IASAE Level II Certification.
- Experience in roles such as Test Engineer or Software Assurance Engineer.
- Familiarity with Anti-Tamper technologies and security controls.
- Experience with software development tools and practices.
- Ability to independently manage tasks and contribute to integrated teams.
