Position Summary:

The Solar Systems Maintenance Technician will take charge of conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on solar energy systems, which encompass solar panels, inverters, and associated components. This position necessitates robust technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to operate both independently and collaboratively to guarantee the optimal functionality and dependability of solar installations.

Key Duties:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Execute routine preventive maintenance activities on solar energy systems, which include cleaning, inspecting, and testing solar panels, inverters, and other components.
    • Detect and resolve potential issues to avert system downtime and ensure peak performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
    • Identify and troubleshoot system faults, failures, and performance issues utilizing diagnostic tools and software.
    • Evaluate system data and performance metrics to ascertain root causes of issues and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Repair and Replacement:
    • Fix or replace faulty or damaged components of solar energy systems, including inverters, wiring, connectors, and mounting hardware.
    • Ensure that all repairs and replacements are executed safely, accurately, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • System Testing and Commissioning:
    • Perform functional tests and commissioning procedures on newly installed or repaired solar energy systems to confirm proper operation and performance.
    • Document test results, observations, and recommendations for follow-up actions or enhancements.
  • Customer Service and Support:
    • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to solar system owners, promptly addressing service requests and inquiries in a professional manner.
    • Effectively communicate with customers to clarify maintenance procedures, troubleshooting steps, and repair options.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy fields is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in solar installation, maintenance, or field service, with a solid understanding of solar energy systems and components.
  • Electrical license or certification is preferred; experience with AC and DC electrical systems is required.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical challenges.
  • License Preferred.
