Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Addiction Medicine Specialist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in San Jose, California. This is a full-time position that requires a deep understanding of addiction medicine and a passion for providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

About the Job

This role involves providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services to adult and child members presenting with a range of mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, provide psychotherapy, and conduct psychological assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical treatment programs for adults and children with acute or chronic mental illness
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups
  • Administer specialized therapeutic procedures as needed
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding medication regimens and adherence to treatment plans
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration and interpretation
  • Chart members' treatment progress and maintain confidential records
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university
  • A Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire
  • Knowledge of DSM-V, Evidence-Based Practice, and psychotherapy research methods
  • Experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric conditions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
