Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Stanford Health Care. As a specialist in emergency medicine, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

You will work closely with our experienced medical team to provide urgent and emergency care services to patients of all ages. Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic complaints, as well as health maintenance concerns related to specialty.
  • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams to assess normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients.
  • Perform or request diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient, including blood tests, imaging studies, and other relevant tests.
  • Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
  • Orders physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services as necessary.
  • Perform designated procedures after demonstrating competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable.
  • Initiates arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and completes appropriate paperwork.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
  • Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA).
  • BLS certification.
  • DEA certification.
  • Prior experience working in an emergency department or urgent care setting is highly desirable.
