Position Overview

The City of Blue Ash is seeking individuals who are passionate about fitness and dedicated to assisting others in achieving their health goals. The Fitness Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing safe and enjoyable fitness experiences for all visitors. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to the daily operations of the fitness center and requires effective collaboration with all team members.

This is a Permanent Part-Time role that offers benefits including contributions to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, complimentary individual membership to the recreation center, eligibility for family membership discounts, and reduced rates at local golf courses and dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist supervisory and professional staff with the daily management of the fitness center.
  • Oversee all tasks related to daily operations, activities, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the fitness area and equipment.
  • Perform routine tasks such as organizing weights and maintaining a tidy environment.
  • Welcome patrons in a courteous manner and provide guidance on the proper use of fitness equipment, including free weights and various exercise machines.
Qualifications
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills and engage positively with patrons.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift heavy weights as required.
  • Punctuality and commitment to attending all necessary training sessions are essential.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work primarily takes place indoors.
