Retail Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in reviewing, processing, and dispensing medications and supplies.
- Answer telephones and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication with customers regarding medication instructions, side effects, and other important information.
- Arrange customer consultations with pharmacists as needed.
- Clean equipment and maintain temperature logs as per corporate policy and procedures.
- Process incoming orders and verify inventory levels to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist Intern.
- National certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with a course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Minimum of one year of experience as a retail pharmacy technician or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, data entry, and filing.
- English language proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing).
This position is primarily performed in a retail pharmacy setting and requires moderate physical effort, including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
