Sustainability Interns at Thermo Fisher Scientific play a vital role in helping customers find cures for cancer, protecting the environment, and ensuring food safety.

As a Sustainability Intern, you will work on projects that have significant strategic and/or operating importance to the business. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Performing independent work, reporting results to leadership, and applying those results to drive meaningful changes in the company's processes and products.
  • Supporting research and development projects centered on environmental sustainability.
  • Designing approaches to understand and improve current sustainability challenges facing the business.
  • Supporting efforts to embed sustainability in product development processes and innovation.
  • Analyzing and summarizing publications as needed.
  • Preparing collected data in a presentation style format to be presented to R&D leadership, project collaborators, commercial marketing, and product management teams.

Requirements:

To qualify for this internship, you must be an undergraduate student completing a Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, or a related engineering or scientific field between December 2025 and June 2026. You should have no years of work experience, but previous related internships are preferred.

Consistent track records of results demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity are essential. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence are also required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The hourly pay range for this position is $21.00–$24.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
