We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Department Leader to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for leading a team of associates to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth in the bakery department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, ensuring that customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of associates to achieve sales and profit goals, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Inventory Management: Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, and train associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality assurance standards, ensuring that products are fresh and of high quality.
  • Financial Management: Assist in preparing the store/department budget, expense control, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
  • Safety and Security: Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and practicing preventive maintenance.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with associates, customers, and management.
  • Food Safety Certification: Hold a current food handlers permit.
  • Math Skills: Possess basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Leadership Experience: Have previous leadership experience in a retail or bakery environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
