Safety Professional Job Description

The Safety Professional is a critical member of the M.C. Dean, Inc. team, responsible for overseeing Facilities Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance Safety, Health, and Risk Management. This role involves effectively managing multiple Safety programs, developing, and implementing M.C. Dean's safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement site-specific project safety plans, collaborating with Project Management to ensure effective implementation and leadership of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process.
  • Provide solutions to complex problems, utilizing imaginative, thorough, and practical approaches.
  • Coordinate with customers and/or owners to address general site conditions and Non-Compliance Notices (NCNs).
  • Participate in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/sub-contractors to advise on project-specific mitigation plans, S&H training programs, and technical reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Site-Specific Accident Prevention Programs (APPs) and training plans to meet project safety plan specifications and requirements.
  • Lead the Operational Risk Management (ORM) team in reviewing, interpreting, and developing project safety plans based on project, client/owner, Program Manager, and customer specifications, design drawings, regulations, and existing safety systems.
  • Conduct and assist with incident/investigation reporting.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 6-8 years' experience with an Associate's Degree, or 8-10 years' experience with a High School diploma.
  • Experience conducting S&H training, regulatory compliance expertise, and knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
  • Understanding of OHSMS (ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000, ISO 45001) and culture building skills.
  • Trainer Designation - OSHA 500/50 - Safety and Health/Occupational Safety degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Willingness to pursue Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) certifications.
