Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Actalent is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team in Kansas City, KS.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to design and develop material handling and conveying systems using Autodesk Inventor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop material handling and conveying systems using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), technical specifications, and user manuals.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation phases.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing material handling and conveying systems.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and other relevant CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to material handling systems.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
