Orange EV LLC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in designing and developing innovative electric vehicles that are better for the earth, people, and the bottom line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems, including suspensions, braking, ergonomics, and structural design
  • Optimize systems to minimize weight and maximize efficiency
  • Develop platforms for systems of responsibility to ensure commonality across Orange EV
  • Define component specifications and create relevant documentation
  • Manage project timelines and cost estimates for new designs
  • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for systems of responsibility and ensure completion of action items
  • Review operator and service manual sections of responsible systems
  • Educate less experienced engineers in proper design and calculation techniques
  • Conduct design reviews and oversee assembly of prototype builds
  • Develop test procedures and requirements for new designs
  • Perform project engineer/program manager work as needed
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in design of mobile equipment
  • Education/Experience: BSME from an accredited university
  • Strong technical and professional knowledge
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in effective problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of SAE and ISO safety standards
  • Extensive CAD experience, preferably Autodesk Inventor
  • DFMEA experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Manufacturing and/or Distribution industries
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry
Physical Requirements
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Work in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
