Job Summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn PACU team. As a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in the immediate post-anesthesia period, ensuring a smooth transition to Phase I recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients upon return from OR and/or diagnostic procedures, documenting findings accurately.
  • Provide safe nursing care and a safe environment for patients and families.
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders, documenting all patient-related information.
  • Administer medication and IV fluids accurately and safely within nursing guidelines.
  • Update and revise the plan of care as needed, based on continued assessment of the patient, including providing care for patient discharge to the nursing unit.
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking skills to perceive potential problem situations and intervene to offset adverse effects.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in a PACU or Burn Unit setting.
