The Energy Project Coordinator will be a technically skilled team player, responsible for conducting thorough reviews of project work and integrating seamlessly into a team of accomplished SOCOTEC professionals.

SOCOTEC has successfully completed over 500 LEED projects globally, positioning itself at the forefront of energy and materials innovation. We have been actively involved with the U.S. Green Building Council since its inception.

Our personnel have been instrumental in numerous pioneering projects, including the first net-zero building in the U.S., the first environmental high-rise residences, and the first environmental office tower, along with many other efficient all-electric and low-carbon buildings.

Project Types and Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a variety of project types, including offices, multi-family residential (mid & high-rise), assembly spaces, natatoriums, and art galleries, with project sizes typically ranging from 100,000 to 2 million square feet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate energy modeling by examining field conditions and design documents, accurately representing relevant details in the energy model.
  • Conduct advanced energy modeling analyses for high-rise commercial and residential structures primarily utilizing DOE 2.2 or Energy Plus in compliance with ASHRAE Standards.
  • Model HVAC systems, including chilled water, hot water, DX, rooftop units, and both constant and variable air volume systems.
  • Compile documentation on modeling methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes.
  • Execute energy audits, benchmarking, data collection, and measurement & verification tasks.
  • Perform energy savings and lifecycle cost analyses of energy-saving measures related to building envelope, lighting, HVAC, plug loads, and building energy management systems.
  • Conduct Excel-based calculations applying engineering principles.
  • Develop and produce reports detailing building components and outlining energy efficiency measures to enhance design and control for both new and existing facilities.
  • Conduct quality checks and assurance for tasks completed by team members.
  • Provide constructive feedback to project teams on cost-effective strategies for enhancing building energy performance and sustainability.
